The standing red & white banners on the picture are called "umbul-umbul". Beside "bendera" (flag), we also sprout "umbul-umbul", and put other decorations along the street, in this August month, to celebrate "Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia" (Indonesia's Independence Day)
